CPA is looking for members to help shape the direction and activities of the new CPA Racial Justice Task Force.

Racial Justice Task Force Purpose: 

The purpose of the task force is to address issues pertaining to the mental health of all people affected by racism, and to develop plans for addressing and reducing systemic and acute oppression, bias, subjugation, violence, and emotional and physical abuse directed toward people of color in the state of Colorado and beyond; to address issues of privilege that promote systemic racism; and to partner with organizations in the state toward promoting racial justice.  

 

Goals:

The specific goals of CPA Racial Justice Task Force will be determined by the work group and its chair. 

Volunteers:

We welcome volunteers for the Task Force Chair position described below as well as for member positions on the Task Force to work with the Chair to develop goals for the Task Force.

Chair Position Description:

The Racial Justice Task Force Chair will be appointed by the CPA president for a one-year term (subject to approval by the CPA Board of Directors).  The Chair will determine the structure and composition of the task force and the meeting times, and will attend one Board of Directors meeting annually. The Chair will also lead the task force to develop goals and will provide a brief, bi-annual written update to the CPA Board of Directors on the task force's progress.   

Requirements:

You must be a CPA member to serve on a committee or task force or as a liaison.

Looking to help shape the educational events for our psychological community? Volunteer for the Programming Committee today!

The programming committee leads all educational efforts for the Colorado Psychological Association. We aim to develop and host meaningful events to provide CPA members pertinent education opportunities, develop and maintain strong professional networks, and create social opportunities for all members. Programming activities are aimed to meet the needs of all CPA members, from students, to early career psychologists, to veterans, and those after their working years.

The Colorado Psychological Association of Graduate Students (COPAGS) is Recruiting for New Leadership Positions!


COPAGS is the graduate student arm of the Colorado Psychological Association and aims to represent the needs of psychology graduate students and the communities they serve across the state of Colorado. 

Participating in COPAGS is a great way to learn leadership skills and boost your CV while building your professional network. 

COPAGS is accepting nominations for these positions for the July 2020-July 2021 term: Chair-Elect, Programing Chair, Diversity Chair, and Advocacy Chair (you can find descriptions of the positions below). Interested individuals should send a CV and a paragraph of interest by August 21st to COPAGS Chair Emanuel Hermosillo at [email protected].

CPA's Mental Health Practice Act Sunset Committee will discuss the changes that will affect Colorado psychologists for the next 10 years. They will also discuss the pertinent elements of the process CPA participated in and the advocacy work the Committee and CPA's lobbyist, Jeannie Vanderburg, engaged in on behalf of all Colorado Psychologists. The Committee will also be able to take questions.
