The Green Symposium is an annual gathering hosted by the Colorado Psychological Association. The Symposium focuses on the latest developments and research findings regarding cannabis. It began in 2017 in an effort to disseminate information to behavioral health care providers and others in the treatment community.

Join Dr. Christian Thurstone for his program, Marijuana and Sociology. 

Dr. Thurstone is board-certified in general, child, and addiction psychiatry. He is the director of the addiction services at Denver Health and associate professor of psychiatry at the University of Colorado. His research focuses on improving adolescent substance treatment and making it more available. In his free time, Dr. Thurstone is a competitive tennis player, consultant for the Denver Broncos, and a member of the US Army Reserve.

Participants will be able to:
1. Discuss the latest health effect findings in current research.
2. Describe the clinical issues practitioners may encounter when working with individuals using marijuana.
3. Explain how Motivational Interviewing and impact can be applied when working with this population.

CPA is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. CPA maintains responsibility for this program and its content.
