Please join APA and Div. 34 (Society for Environmental, Population, and Conservation Psychology) for a webinar, “Addressing Climate Change: State and Local Policy Opportunities” on May 2, from 12:00 - 1:00pm EDT. Through presentations and discussions with two experienced climate leaders, this webinar will provide attendees with an understanding of relevant state and local policy mechanisms for addressing climate change, as well as information and skills for engaging policymakers at these levels.

As stated in APA’s recent report “Addressing the Climate Crisis: An Action Plan for Psychologists,” responding to the climate crisis is an essential task, requiring the participation of all fields and sectors of society. Unless major reductions in greenhouse gas emissions are made quickly, climate-driven adverse impacts on human health, well-being, and equity will intensify. Psychologists are uniquely qualified to take action themselves to promote policies and programs for mitigating and adapting to climate change.
