Bio:

Dr. Sarah Burgamy is a licensed clinical psychologist and the founder of PhoenixRISE. She is a graduate of Dartmouth College and the Graduate School of Professional Psychology at the University of Denver. Dr. Burgamy is an At-Large Member of the Board of Directors for the Colorado Psychological Association (CPA) and the Chair of the Society for the Advancement of Multiculturalism and Diversity (SAMD), a division of the CPA.

As a native of Denver, Colorado, Dr. Burgamy has a vested interest in providing high quality mental health and counseling services within her community. PhoenixRISE is dedicated to serving Denver’s diverse communities with specialty areas in identity development, depression, anxiety, significant life transitions, loss, relational issues, sport/competition related challenges, and educational assessments for adults, adolescents, and children. Dr. Burgamy extends a particular welcome to those clients struggling with challenges related to lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender/gender variant identities.

Long immersed in the field of psychology, Dr. Burgamy observed a limitation in the manner through which we approach education regarding, and promotion of, psychological interventions. Specifically, she found herself wondering how such a vibrant and innovative field seemed reduced to something mysterious and plain.

Enter PhoenixRISE -- a contemporary practice focused on dynamic possibilities for enduring desired change with the promotion of an approachable, accessible, and authentic style.
