2018 Early-Session Legislative Update Webinar with CE Credits January 19, 2018

Posted: Dec. 11, 2017

Understanding laws, policies and regulations affecting your practice; and learning essential risk management strategies to use beyond this legislative session.

Registration Is Now Open!

Your practice keeps you busy enough with little time to think about the many policies, legislation and regulations affecting your livelihood. That's why CPA keeps you up-to-date with what you need to know to comply. And each year, at the Colorado legislature, CPA represents and protects your interests by monitoring and taking positions on legislation affecting psychologists.

This one-hour webinar will cover the progress of specific 2018 legislation and what's expected through the 2018 session convening January 10, 2018 and ending early May (including PSYPACT legislation, a main focus for CPA this year). It also provides an overview of the differences between statutes, regulations, and policies that govern practice and shows you how to access all of this guidance to be fully aware of the "rules" and stay in compliance.

If you are a psychologist practicing in Colorado, you don't want to miss this webinar.

Overview:
  • review of legal issues in Colorado, looking at Colorado laws, rules, and policies related to psychology;
  • legislative round-up of recent laws in CO relevant to psychologists;
  • pending legislation – PSYPACT (Psychology Interjurisdictional Compact) -  to facilitate telehealth and temporary in-person, face-to-face practice of psychology across jurisdictional boundaries;
  • risk management strategy of knowing and understanding the rules under which psychologists operate
Learning objectives:
  • identify the laws, regulations, policies, and other guidance that govern the practice of psychology in Colorado
  • describe recent and pending legislation in Colorado and understand the impact of such legislation on the practice of psychology
  • implement processes and policies to increase compliance with relevant laws and regulations
